How to distinguish single call, group call and all call of DMR? Jan 05, 2023
The DMR(Digital Mobile Radio) can set single call, group call and all call directly through contacts. So what is the difference between them?

1. Single call

Literally we can understand that this is a one-to-one call. Each of us will register a DMR ID through the call sign, which is the same as our mobile phone number and is not repeated. If you want to call the other party, you can directly enter the other party's ID and dial manually.

2. Group call

As the name suggests, it is a call between a group. In the digital contact, we can create a group call contact, and all people who choose the same group call contact are equivalent to being in the same group, and they can call each other.

3. All call
All call is not commonly used by radio amateurs, it is more suitable for commercial use, similar to broadcasting. When the walkie-talkie is set to all call, this channel can only transmit, not receive. For example, in a company, if the leader sends a message on his walkie-talkie, he can set up all calls and all other walkie-talkies can receive it. Even if someone accidentally presses the PTT button to speak, it will not interfere with the leader's transmit.
